PUBLIC PRESENCE

Since arriving at the University of Central Arkansas in 2013, I have endeavored to connect with various audiences. From public presentations at local breweries and book fairs, to international conferences in Vichy, France and Norwich, England, to lectures at Conway retirement homes and high schools, and (especially since the Covid Outbreak), public “Zoom-sponsored” roundtables with groups like the Holland Society of New York and the Consortium for History of Science, Technology and Medicine, my scholarship transcends the supposed cloisters of the Ivory Tower. I also co-led UCA’s Phi Alpha Theta students in publishing a history of UCA through imagery, in addition to writing several articles and blog posts for publicly-facing outlets.
